WSR201 60 GHz Radar Level Meter
The WSR201 is a 60 GHz radar level meter with 5, 10 or 15 m range, ±5 mm accuracy (±0.1% FS at 15 m), a 6° beam angle and a 0.15 m blocking distance. It is IP68 rated, operates from −40 to 85 °C and −0.1 to 0.3 MPa, outputs 4–20 mA and RS485 Modbus RTU, and is configured over Bluetooth from a phone.
What it does
Radar measures the time of flight of a microwave signal reflected from the surface. At 60 GHz the beam is narrow, so it fits small nozzles and avoids internal ladders, agitators and wall build-up that confuse wider-beam sensors.
Unlike ultrasonic sensors, radar is not affected by vapour, temperature layering, rain or wind, which makes it suitable for both process tanks and outdoor river and reservoir monitoring.

Frequently asked questions
Is 60 GHz radar better than 26 GHz?
60 GHz gives a narrower beam from a smaller antenna, which helps in small tanks and near fittings. Lower frequencies can cope better with heavy condensation or build-up on the antenna.
Can radar measure level through foam?
Light foam usually does not stop it; dense foam can. Mount where the foam layer is thinnest.
